The steel box girder crossing Xinyi Street on Kaiyuan Avenue was successfully closed

At 4: 00 a.m. on December 26, the steel box girder part of Kaiyuan Avenue interchange across Xinyi Street built by Henan Installation Group Co., Ltd. completed the hoisting of the last section of box girder, successfully realizing the closure, marking another solid step towards the opening of Xinyi Street South Extension Project.
The steel box girder of the interchange is divided into three spans, with a length of about 120 meters, a bridge deck width of 22.4 meters and a total weight of about 1800 tons, of which the upper span of Xinyi Street is 45 meters and is set as two-way four lanes. Residential quarters, shopping malls and public places along this section are concentrated, and the traffic flow is large. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the box girder hoisting task and minimize the impact on the transportation of the masses, the project team of Henan Installation Group made full planning in the early stage, discussed and optimized the hoisting scheme many times, and adopted the method of factory segment production, on-site assembly construction, hoisting after early morning and resuming traffic in the morning. Overcoming the severe cold weather at night, the construction personnel only used 5 nights to hoist all the box girders in place, 4 days ahead of schedule. In the process of hoisting, the Municipal Bureau of housing and urban rural development, Tianxing supervision, Henan Guoan, Luolong traffic police and other units gave strong support to ensure the safe and orderly hoisting of steel box girders. In the next step, the project personnel will speed up the welding progress and strive for valuable time for the subsequent construction of bridge deck pavement and ancillary works.
It is understood that the project of crossing Xinyi Street on Kaiyuan Avenue starts from Changxiamen Street in the west and reaches the current Kaiyuan Bridge in the east, with a total length of about 1.05 kilometers. The road grade is the main road of the city and the red line width is 65~123m. The project will set up a pair of entrance and exit ramps on the east side of Xinyi Street and a semi-clover interchange on the west side of Lotte Road. After the completion of the road, it will further improve the traffic efficiency of Kaiyuan Avenue and Xinyi Street, effectively relieve traffic pressure, and play a positive role in accelerating the joint development of Luolong District and Yibin District.
